I remember that gorgeous weekend, sunny and full of potential. Or so I thought…

I was looking forward to spending it with my best friend on an outdoor trip that we both loved. So I dialed her number and inquired if she was ready. On the other end of the telephone, a voice—not her usual—slowly informed me that she had to cancel... yet again. Her supervisor had given her another last-minute job that needed to be done over the weekend rather than on Monday. 

I felt a surge of sadness but also anger wash over me.

This was probably the hundredth time she had cancelled in this manner. I’m good with numbers so I was confident that she had been unable to attend more than half of our get-togethers, and that for the past few years...

My best, dearest friend, sounded depressed too. She was unquestionably stuck. We had so many conversations about this topic that I was fighting a feeling of overwhelm so I hung up and silently questioned if that was the life she was intended to live… I knew right away the answer was NO.

As an action-oriented person, I felt compelled to help her escape the rat race and achieve freedom. And not only her.

I felt a clear desire to help as many people as possible find freedom. At the time, I was already an entrepreneur and enjoying a certain amount of freedom; my company was very far from an OSCAR* business, but at least I was working for myself.

In addition, through my second business, I was producing and hosting a TV show on the theme of helping people find their own path, professionally, and I believed I had a calling and talent to do so. But I had no idea that the answer to her problem was actually in it!

She finally had a revelation one lovely day while watching one of my episodes, in which I was talking about being a life coach, the types of advantages and cons for this road, and how to best pursue it. This was precisely what she needed to do, so she took the leap! A watershed moment in her life that allowed her to obtain location independence and continues to provide her joy and fulfillment on a professional and personal level.

Hundreds of people like my friend are stuck in a vicious cycle, unable to break free and create a brighter future for themselves.

Pressured to put in the extra hours, surrounded by toxic environments and probably the saddest of all- constantly missing out on time with family and friends, they are afraid to lose the ‘security’ of their monthly paycheck.
